There were very many battles during the War of 1812. Here are some of the most important ones.
Name of Battle: Battle of Fort St. Joseph and the capture of Michilimackinac.
Location: Mackinac on lake Huron.
Dates: July 17, 1812
About the Battle: the British forces heard about the up coming war when the news was travaling and acted amiditly attacking the closest American fort which was fort St Joseph on Huron near the village of Michilimackinac. So the British forces attacked and the American not knowing about the war were not ready and surrender with out ether side firing a shot.

Location: Fort Detroit - On the Detroit river between lake Erie and lake St. Clair.
Dates: Aug 17, 1812
About the Battle: the British came to the area along with Native North American lead by Tecumseh and together they made the Americans think they were out numbered so they surrender.

Location: Amherstburg in the northwest corner of Lake Erie
Dates: Sept 10, 1813
About the Battle: The Americans had to attack twice but they overcame the British forces giving the American complete control over Lake Erie which meant the British could not get there supply ship through to there forces so they left Detroit and Fort Malden

Location: Queenston Heights - On the Niagara river, North of Niagara Falls
Dates: Oct 13, 1813
About the Battle: The American landed a lot of troops that overtook the small amount of defenders. But then the reinforcement from Fort George arrived along with General Isaac Brock who lead the charge but was killed. Then more troops arrived from fort George and some Six Nations warriors came as well. The Americans went back across the river to plan there next attack and most of there troops got scared when they heard the fierce war cries of warriors, saw the wounded return from battle and thought there was more troops coming from Fort George
